This is no criticism though of the incredible core Lucidchart backend service or the web interface. Hopefully the app will improve in time but for now, beyond basic charting, I can't see how it can replace the web interface.
As an experiment I persisted but I still need to edit the results in a web based browser. It took me hours to create a chart using the app - fiddly and inconsistent dragging, resizing and text editing were the main problems - whereas I could have done it using Chrome within probably half an hour. The iPad app is just too difficult and buggy to use: regular and replicable freezes in touchscreen detection when trying to move objects, difficulties in activating text fields within objects and the impossibility of accurately resizing and placing objects with fine precision, mean that the web interface is the only way to use Lucidchart for now.
